creepiness

It is Sunday morning. It's around 5:30/6:00. I am stirring. All of a sudden I hear a voice whisper, "You are going to die." I whisper back, "Shut up Kevin." Then I am fully awake and realizing that it wasn't Kevin's voice I heard. He doesn't stir and when I tell him of it later in the day, he has no clue. Can you say I was a wee bit freaked out? I had just read an article about lucid dreaming in Yoga Journal the night before. Could that have been the reason why I was "hearing" voices? I swear though, so freaking real. Felt like someone was saying it right. in. my. ear. Shudder. It freaks me out now when I am wide awake sitting at work.

I've had some scary fucking dreams before (my apologies for using the f-word, but I just can't explain how scary the dreams were). Some are from years and years ago and I can remember them like they really happened. It's really sick how our minds can freak us out like it really happened, isn't it?

No apologise necessary. Minds playing tricks, no fun! There was a re-occuring dream I had as a kid. These gigantic shit monsters would be killing these little pink fairies. Everytime I had the dream, I vomitted. I soon learned if I was having that dream I had to wake up and run to the bathroom...

wow. just wow. just be safe. you have now creeped me out!
My recurring childhood nightmare was of being chased around a grocery freezer section by a shadowy figure wielding an ax (one too many Stephen King novels, methinks). Of course my legs were tangled in the bedsheets, so I had to run on my knees in the dream.

And I have to go try to get some sleep now. : /

Even though you were stirring your mind was still dreaming, it was good that you "woke" when you did, the dream could have gotten creepier. I have the strangest dreams ever when I'm between sleeping and waking. Not only do I get voices whispering to me, tey will set off alarm clocks, phones will ring, sometimes I'll wake suddenly without even knowing what noise woke me up. As creepy as these dreams are, if I can remember the dream there is usually a message in the dream that I can use or need. They are usually not as literal as they seem to be on the surface, it's all symbolism.

Love you Sis.

That would creep me right out! I imagine it was the shadow of a retreating dream as you stirred from slumber. (Gosh, I almost sound literary, don't I?)

Anyway, yes, I dream the most when I'm beginning to wake. I love the lazy afternoon naps where my mind isn't so tired and is able to work through stuff. I rarely if ever get the point of the dream, but it's a nice little afternoon at the cinema, if nothing else.

i had a dream once where I was swimming in Ben & Jerry's ice cream, slowly drowing, and a pistachio kept pushing my head under the creamy surface. It kept yelling, "eat me, eat it all!"

No, wait, that's one of my ice cream fantasies... sorry.

(huge crutch for anything with caramel in it)

Did I mention it was a gallon sized container.... giggle.

HEY, no worries about your dream, lucid as it was. I hear voices ALL THE TIME and look how good I turned out....
