i thought i had enough, but obviously i am one shy. so very close to the end of a rather long project. i must say i am proud of it though.
what is this project? some might ask.
well, it started with me wanting to find an economical way of bordering in our vegetable beds because the fabulous soil was being washed away with each winter. i didn't want to use wood because face it, in the pacific nw it can be rather wet.
i had an idea out of the blue. wine bottles. the perfect solution. most of our friends drink wine. only a few loads were from people we didn't know or neighbor's recycling. kev only picked up a few that way once or twice. they warm the ground and help keep the roots toasty.
i know how many bottles were used in the bed project. i've counted twice.
Guess how many bottles used in the 6 beds
and win something fabulous and wonderful!!

I have no clue, but will guess 210!

Adding in the remaining one you need (and I hope you used the occasion to buy a nice bottle for you and the Mr.!) I'm guessing 244.
There must be more than 500.
I know I must have taken labels off of 50 of them.
Hey! Not fair, you did not tell us how many beds you built.I have my guess if it is just for the two we can see in the photo but if theres more I need to recount my count. And since I know you,I am pretty dang sure there are more than 2 beds.
XOOXOXOXO
I will guess 540 although I have never seen your garden in person.
rois, so true. there are a total of 6 beds. j-wo, david, dad, roise and gail feel free to change your initial guess if you please.
but of course, feel free to leave it alone as well.
Okay, how about 300?
My ever so carefully calculated best guess from my mathematical brain puts in for 540.
Wait! I just saw someone else already picked my number so I pick...535.
I guess 475!
Congrats on having the borders *almost* finished! I'm guessing 360 bottles :)
My random number is 288 bottles. My question is, do they break easily once in the ground? What about over the winter, when it's cold. Does a frozen ground break them? Other then that it sounds like a great way to make beds.
316
Hey, around 250!
Oh, just saw David's comment, he said 244, so, if it is less than 244, he wins, but if it is more than 244 but less than 288, I win! HA! :)
How have you been? It's been a glorious summer here in Bend, and so many things are happening in this small town. Currently the Cascade Cycling Classic is on... today I transported water to a feed zone for the cyclists, on the way back, I saw the most magnificent scene in my life, a group of cyclists coming down a hill, Mt Bachelor in the background, I was on the other side of the road taking in the sheer force they had when they hit the slope, and that moment, you know, tall green trees, bright blue skies, snow capped mountain top, and right in front of me there was this big group of cyclists, it was simple breathtaking!
Hope you have a great summer too!
447, hope I make it to the showcase showdown!
I'd guess at 282!
