my boss came by the store i was working at yesterday and actually sat and chatted with me for a while. it was a painfully slow day at the store so i was happy for the conversation.
he said to me, "you shouldn't complain about your life...you have it really good."
my reply to him was that i KNOW i have a good life and i try not to take it for granted. (for the record, i wasn't complaining about my life when he said that). he smiled at me, almost beamed, and said, "good. it's good you know this. not enough people with good lives know this."
it got me to thinking about the life i live. it is a good one. i might even say it is great.
i am thankful that i have a great boss, who is always challenging me. i am grateful i have an amazing family, which always supports me and my ideas. i am honored to have such fabulous friends, who are there to lend a hand when needed. and my husband...i can't imagine what i did to get so lucky to have met and married kevin. but i am thankful indeed!
what is something (or who is someone) you are thankful for?

Shannon you are fabulous! I loved this blog. I am thankful for many of the same things as you are. Jobs that pay my bills, wonderful friends, great co-workers (many of whom I now call friends), and a loving boyfriend. Oh and my sweet baby Simon!
I am thankful for Tiger Woods! --- ok, just kidding :)
In truth, I'm thankful for the simple life I have. It's very basic, in harmony with myself and my surrounding, and without desire and want.
Ok, I still want to hit the lottery ticket someday - maybe I should start buying the ticket now! :)
I am thankful for where I am in my life now! For family and friends like you who fill my life and for Dick who has brought so much calmness and true contentment into me.
Thanks for sharing this post.
I am thankful for our family. It is nice to know that you are always there.
Thanks for deciding to be a part of our family. I am truly blessed.
There are some fantastic blogging friends out there too.
I know it sounds cheesy, but I'm really thankful for my two kids. Could not imagine my life without them.
And I too know that I've had a good life so far, even though it's not perfect.
great you've had such a nice holiday with your family!!!
It's been rather stressing here, but still very nice. we had snow and lots of lovely food and cozy times, but were trying top squeeze in too much - and that's when it became stressing.
I'm most thankful for my 3 guys - they're all the love of my life, both sons and my husband!
I'm thankful to have I found blog friends like you this year! This is a perfect post for the beginning of the year Shannon. Thank you! Its easy to get caught up in the rat race of every day stuff and forget how good life is~
